NEW CLASS: THE PARABLES OF THE KINGDOM
Join Rev. Eleanor Fleming as we use our newly acquired skills in metaphysical interpretation in exploring the parables of Jesus. A parable (coming from the Greek parabole) is a story “set alongside something else” from which a spiritual teaching can be drawn.
Speaking in parables was a common way to communicate amongst the Semites and continues to be so even today. The theme of Jesus’ parables was God’s kingdom which aimed to bring a new understanding of God as present and active right here and now. We will first consider 7 parables in the 13th chapter of Matthew, how to access the kingdom, and the obstacles to entering, and what the parable means in your life.
The class begins Thursday, April 12th, and continues for 4 Thursdays. 7:00-8:30 p.m. CDT.Register Now
